Deepening Hawaiian heritage, identity, belonging, and kuleana
Our Mission – To empower Native Hawaiians across the diaspora wherever they are in their journey through culturally rooted programs, community spaces, and accessible resources that strengthen belonging, deepen cultural connection and community, and exercise kuleana (responsibility).
Our Vision – A world where every Native Hawaiian, no matter how far or how long removed, feels deeply rooted in who they are and where they come from, so that together, across generations, we build real and sustainable pathways back to Hawaiʻi, ultimately reversing the diaspora majority and restoring Native Hawaiian stewardship of our land, people, culture, and future.

Our Story

Hawaiian Diaspora began as a vision for an ʻāina-based cultural program to support adults in the diaspora.

Knowing it would take deep resources to build, we started with research — and launched our Instagram to reach others like us, hoping to listen, learn, and design with care.Hawaiian Diaspora began as a vision for an ʻāina-based cultural program to support adults in the diaspora.

What we discovered was bigger than a single program.

The need, the connection, and the kuleana were deeper. That’s why we’ve grown into a grassroots movement — one rooted in identity, community, and the belief that every Hawaiian, wherever they are, deserves space to belong.
